Pediatric Theraplay - Helping You Achieve Your Goals

Session Types

Our speech therapy services support children in developing communication, social interaction, and oral-motor/feeding skills through personalized, play-based sessions with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).

Speech Therapy Screening

A short, informal observation designed to identify whether a child may benefit from speech therapy. The therapist briefly assesses general communication, speech clarity, and/or feeding concerns through natural interaction. This session does not include standardized testing or a written report, but provides immediate feedback and guidance on next steps.
Best for families exploring whether an evaluation is needed.

Standardized Evaluation

A full, in-depth assessment conducted by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate the child’s current skills across key areas such as:

  • Receptive Language (understanding language)

  • Expressive Language (using words and sentences)

  • Articulation and phonological skills (speech sounds)

  • Pragmatic language (social skills)

  • Voice, fluency, and oral-motor/feeding (if applicable)

Standardized testing tools, clinical observations, and a caregiver interview are used to generate a comprehensive written report with scores, interpretations, and individualized therapy recommendations.
Often required for insurance or to initiate a therapy plan.

One-on-one session

Personalized, one-on-one therapy sessions tailored to your child’s developmental goals. Each session focuses on specific communication or feeding areas using interactive, play-based techniques that keep your child motivated and engaged. Common goals include:

  • Improving speech clarity and sound production

  • Expanding vocabulary and sentence use

  • Enhancing understanding and following directions

  • Supporting social interaction and peer communication

  • Addressing picky eating, oral-motor coordination, or safe swallowing

Progress is continuously monitored, and strategies are shared with caregivers to promote carryover at home and school.

Re-Evaluation

(Every 3–6 months or as needed)
A follow-up assessment to review your child’s progress toward their goals and determine if changes to the therapy plan are needed. The re-evaluation may include:

  • Informal reassessment activities

  • Repeat standardized subtests (if applicable)

  • Therapist observations

  • Parent input and updated concerns

A progress summary and updated recommendations are provided to guide ongoing therapy or discharge planning.
Ensures therapy remains targeted and effective as your child grows.
